Testing methods, selection of test measures, and treatment interventions employed by Dr. Dahdah are all research based. Quality of care and meeting patients' personal goals are her focus.

Treatment

Neuropsychological tests are designed to measure a neurocognitive or psychological function known to be linked to a particular brain structure or pathway. By understanding how these functions have changed, Dr. Dahdah is able to develop treatment plans that may include training in cognitive or behavioral strategies, environmental modifications, education or counseling, medication recommendations, or rehabilitation therapies.

Assessment

Neuropsychology looks at how the health of your brain affects your thinking skills and behavior. Dr. Dahdah analyzes all the data she collects, in order to clarify your strengths and areas of difficulty following illness/injury. The assessment summarizes the following abilities:

     - attention & concentration

     - learning & memory

     - language functions

     - visual-spatial skills

     - motor functions/ coordination

     - sensory functions

     - academic-intellectual abilities

     - reasoning, problem-solving, & other executive functions

Reintegration

As patients recover from injury, the focus turns to getting back to pre-injury activities, such as returning to work, school, or household responsibilities. In some cases, there may be questions about the level of supervision needed by the patient or appropriate living environment. The Neuropsychological Assessment enables Dr. Dahdah to provide you feedback about how to best reintegrate into the community:

     - your level of recovery

     - your current needs

     - readiness to resume pre-injury activity

     - accommodations you may benefit from

     - training in compensatory strategies
